This might be the most amazing light meter we’ve ever seen. Freakyfauna explains:

Kaufmann’s Posographe.
An instrument for calculating aperture and exposure time when taking photographs in any possible situation.
For outdoors, it includes settings with values like “Snowy scene”, “Greenery with expanse of water”, or “Very narrow old street”, “Cloudy and somber”, “Blue with white clouds”, or “Purest blue”.

Life

I just got back from Guard Duty and slept for 3 hours straight. It is a Sunday. Theodore was using his Tumblr, which had many lovely photos on and that spurred me to create a tumblr account after my sleep. To my surprise, I already have a tumblr account. It was merely forgotten over the course of one year. One year ago, I was an NJC student, dreaming of a hazy tomorrow. Now, I am an officer cadet of the SAF, waiting to be commissioned. My current camp is ETI, for the C-IED phase as well as Ex Panther. We just lost Ruilong to cancer, and now Xiaogu was just recently diagnosed with it as well. So we will be going down to the hospital to see her later. I wish I know her better, for when I received news about her I did not feel any grief, only peaceful acceptance.

A promise

Tumblr. The combination of twitter and blogging, also known as the microblogging phenomenon. I’ve never twitted in my life and dont think i’ll ever like posting random 10 worded updates of myself. But as a blogging tool, perhaps short posts is the way to go, especially in this crazy time-starved world of today, where everything and anything clamours for your attention. I’ve been inspired to blog about late last year but my early interest petered off after a blog post or too…

So this is a renewed effort and promise: that ill log my life regardless of how busy i am - be it one short paragraph or a lengthy monologue - daily. I really want to create a ‘thought dump’, a place where I can rant whatever I feel like ranting about at the point of time, anytime. It would chart my progress as a person over time, how my perspectives and thinking change and serve as a repository of data describing me!

The world can be both an awesome and shitty place, and I’d like to record all those moments, interactions with people, dreams, emotions that make up me. And then perhaps 40 years down the road I’d pick up this site like a book and read it all the way from day 1 and marvel.
